Blogs and Followers

Have you ever been tempted to start your own blog? Maybe you’ve got something to say to the world and it’s time for it to be heard. Perhaps you enjoy the back-and-forth you’ve seen on someone else’s blog and thought, “Gee, I could do that too! Why don’t I do that?”

Good question. Why don’t you?

Fear and Trembling

90% of all knee knocking fear is of things you really don’t have to be afraid of. This is especially true when it comes to starting a blog. If you can ride a bicycle you can start a blog. All it takes is a little practice and some help getting started. Remember how your Mom or Dad would run behind you holding the bike when you first started riding, then before you knew it you looked back and they were waving at you from the distance. You were riding on your own and didn’t even know it.

Blogging is pretty much the same way. There’s plenty of help out there to get you started for blogging, and before you know it, you’ll look around and realize you’re doing it on your own. It’s a proud moment, one I can’t wait for you to experience for yourself.

Starting Off

A quick Google search will turn a lot of ideas for getting started, like this one. For a little inspiration to get you over the rocky patches you can read about some success stories from other people just like you.

Follow just one or two examples, take their directions and apply them slowly and consistently. Before long you’ll be blogging with the best of them; showering the world with your wit and wisdom. Believe it or not, that’s the easy part.

But . . . unless you get some followers to read your blog and comment on it, you’ll start to feel like you’re just casting pearls before the swine. What fun is that?

The Hard Part

You could have the genius of Albert Einstein, the comedic timing of Robin Williams or Richard Pryor, and suave charm of James Bond, but unless someone hears what you have to say, you might as well not say it at all.

You need to promote yourself and your blog. No, I take that back. You have to.

This is where most people freeze up. Sales – and don’t kid yourself, that’s exactly what it is – is one of the most demanding professions in the world. That’s why good salesmen and saleswomen make so much money. The business world needs people who can close the deal and is willing to pay for them, otherwise, the only thing they’ll be closing is their doors.

Promoting Your Blog

The best way to promote your blog is on Instagram. A blog home page, however pretty it may be, is static and plain. Today’s users want more. They want give-and-take, dynamic content, and interaction. Social media makes that possible. It’s where you connect with people and lure them (seduce them really) to come and take a look at your blog above all others.

Instagram, with its quick interaction and turnaround, is the key to promoting your blog. It’s so key that some people have actually worried that it’s taking over blogs (it’s not). People who follow you on Instagram will be the ones who follow your blog, read it, watch your videos, and comment all over the place on it. They’re the ones you want.

Buying Instagram Followers

To the casual or first time blogger, buying followers might sound like heresy of the worst sort. Don’t worry, you’re not doing anything wrong or dishonest. What you’re doing is paying for advertising. That’s what it really is.

A new user or blog on Instagram with only a few followers, or none, won’t generate any interest. Remember, you only have a few seconds to capture someone’s attention online before they scroll on down to someone else. They’ll look at the number of followers and comments, see the online equivalent of an empty parking lot and move on to someone more exciting.

Don’t Wait

You need to buy some followers to jump-start your blog. Check out Social Media Daily to buy Instagram followers and users won’t just scroll blindly past. They’ll stop for a moment or two to see what you’ve got. Once you’ve got their attention, the hard part is over – and best of all, you didn’t have to do it. The rest of it, the easy part, is up to you.

Happy Blogging!

  5. Hi Robin, I’m scared of purchasing any followers, I keep reading that Instagram is cracking down on them. You could lose your account there.
They are even thinking of ditching the like button there too. I think we must spend the time engaging on that network. The same for the other social networks too. It’s either time or money on ADS.
You are right that many are afraid of starting a blog and of failing. You just have to do it like Nike says. 🙂
