Google is always evolving and updating their search engine algorithm. As a matter of fact, Google has said that they update their algorithm about 500 to 600 times per year.

We only hear about the major updates. The big updates.

The most important update, I would say, is the one that was announced in October 2015. This is when they introduced Google RankBrain. And they said it is now their third most important ranking factor. This is a game changer for bloggers. It actually benefits those who truly contribute to the search engine user.

It’s always good to remember the previous major Google updates as it helps you understand the evolution of the search engine and where it could go in the future.
