Finally, the wait is over, Apple Vision Pro has been launched. Which was Announced on June 5, 2023, Apple Vision Pro has finally made its appearance in the market costing a whopping $3500 bringing as much anticipation and excitement as was expected. But the question arises if it’s worth it. Will people buy this product? And what changes does it bring to the tech world?

We discussed about Apple Vision Pro Early Launch in January as well.

Although the product has received a mixed response from the audience so far, let’s take a deep dive into the product.

Spatial Computing

Apple has highly emphasized the product not being a VR (Virtual Reality) but Spatial Computing, pulling itself out of the industrial conversation of VR and AR ( Augmented Reality).

What is Spatial Computing?

Spatial computing is like bringing the digital world into our everyday space, making technology feel more human. It’s about seamlessly blending our real surroundings with virtual elements through cool tech like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Apple has unveiled the inaugural lineup of 3D movies available for Vision Pro on the Apple TV app. Initially showcased during the Vision Pro launch at this year’s WWDC. The VR/AR headset introduces a virtual movie screen to showcase immersive 3D movies and documentaries. These first 3D movie titles have now debuted in the Apple TV app.

As per reports, Apple is gearing up to train in-store staff for the sales of its forthcoming Vision Pro mixed reality headset. The training sessions are scheduled for mid-January, aligning with internal expectations for the launch within the same month. As Apple’s recent launch, “Apple Pro Vision,” has become a hot topic in the tech industry, people also want to know about its experience. During the launch, Apple gave a chance to YouTubers to get 30 minutes of experience. Due to strict conditions by Apple, there were unable to record the real-time experience in a video. But they have shared their personal experiences with their channels.

According to tech columnist Joana Stern, this headset exceeded her expectations. In a report for The Wall Street Journal, She mentioned that 3-D movies now provide a truly immersive experience with an intuitive interface and natural hand gestures. I felt like a massive dinosaur burst through a wall right before my eyes.

Stern mentioned a few drawbacks, like the weighty headset and causing slight nausea during transitions between virtual and augmented reality modes. After nearly a decade, Apple launched its highly anticipated augmented reality headset, Apple Vision Pro. The product marks a significant hardware release for the tech giant.

Apple’s recent announcement uncovered the Augmented Reality headsets or Ski Goggles. The headset will launch in 2024, primarily in the USA. In upcoming years, it will be launched in the rest of the world. With a higher price point of $3,499 (£2,849), it surpasses the cost of other virtual reality headsets. Such as Meta’s Quest 3 price is $499.

While Apple’s announcement occurred at a developer’s conference in Cupertino, California, they offered limited information regarding generative artificial intelligence.

Apple’s VR device differs more from similar devices in the market than a traditional virtual reality headset. Apple has specifically referred to the device as an “augmented reality” headset.

This Apple announcement came right after Meta and Lenovo update announcement for their VR headset. But Apple Pro Vision connected with the world with more power and impact.

Along with the Apple Vision Pro, they revealed iOS 17, the latest iOS operating systems version.

The updates introduced by Apple include features like “contact posters,” where your picture or image will be displayed on a recipient’s phone during a call, and “live voicemail,” which provides a real-time transcription of voicemail messages as they are being recorded.

Apple added new features in iOS7, and one of them is Check-In. This will automatically notify your family and friends once you reach home. In case of a delay in your journey, it can also alert others once you reach home safely.
