Canva Teams has been hit with a price hike in their subscription plans and this decision has been met with criticism from its users. Some Canva Teams subscription users have even vowed to move to Adobe as Canva raised its prices by 4x its previous amount.

Canva Teams is a paid subscription plan aimed at teams for collaborative work and approval flows. It contains features from Canva Pro but it has been adjusted to support more than two or more people at once. Team members can work with each other to build their brands and create stunning visual content. However, Teams has been hit the hardest by the Canvas subscription price hike.

This Canva plan sees a dramatic increase in its US users. The prices have been raised from $120 annually to $500 annually. It has been reported that Australia is also facing worse price hikes as the $26 monthly plan increased to $27 per month. This brings the total of a Teams subscription to $1,636. The Australian price was originally only $323 a year so users have taken to social media to voice their disappointment.

Canva Teams: Reasons behind the price hike

Despite the noise that the price hike has been making on social media, Canva has not put out any official statements announcing the brand-new subscription plans. Although this is not the company’s first rodeo with silently pushing out changes. Earlier this year, Teams increased its subscription plans to $10 per month for each team member.

The increase in Canvas plans is probably due to the new generative AI features that the platform introduced. The company has brought out even more generative AI tools such as Magic Media, Magic Expand, and a text-to-image generator. Users have expressed that most of them do not even use these generative AI tools. Therefore, it seems as though Canva is making people pay for features that are not even used by the majority.
