Apple plans to bring thinner iPhones, MacBooks, and Apple Watch models as early as 2025. According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is now focused on developing a ‘significantly skinnier’ iPhone 17 to be released in 2025.

The company shifted from the trend of thin and light devices to accommodate bigger batteries, more powerful processors, ports, and cameras. The Macbook Pro, Apple Watch, and iPhone became thicker over the years to accommodate the features mentioned above.

However, with the new iPad Pro that came out in May, Apple has now shifted its sights to thinner and slimmer devices. The newly launched iPad did not compensate for any features with its new look. The super-thin tablet came out with the same battery life as previous models. It also has a powerful M4 chip and an improved screen.

The thinner iPhones are assumed to be released with the iPhone 17 lineup in 2025. The iPhone 15 which is the latest iPhone released measures to be 7.8 mm in thickness. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max both have an 8.4 mm thickness. The third-generation iPhone SE is currently the thinnest iPhone. It was released on March 18, 2022, and measures to be 2.9 mm thick.

Apple also plans to make the MacBook Pro and Apple Watch thinner. Recent MacBook Pros increased in thickness to accommodate more features whereas the MacBook Air models had fewer ports in exchange for a slimmer design.

Additionally, the Apple Watch is expected to have a thinner chassis compared to its predecessors. It is speculated that the Apple Watch Series 10 will have a thinner design with a larger display.  

Upcoming iPhone 16 Line Up

The iPhone 16 line-up is yet to be released. It is expected to include changes such as a larger display on the Pro models. It is assumed the iPhone Pro Max will see an increased change from a 6.7-inch display to a 6.9-inch display. The iPhone Pro model may also increase to a 6.3-inch display in place of the current 6.1-inch display on the current iPhone Pro.

WhatsApp ‘Screen-Sharing’ Feature

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will soon roll out a screen-sharing feature that allows users to share their display during video calls.

This feature is currently testing in the beta version of Android and soon it will be accessible to global users.

Also, some reports said WhatsApp would change the interface, and now navigation tabs like chats, calls, status, and communities will shift to the bottom.

Note: The navigation shift to the bottom side is only for Android users because iOS WhatsApp navigation is already placed on the bottom side.

How to Use the WhatsApp Screen-Sharing Feature?

Once the WhatsApp screen-sharing option rolls out, users can easily use this.

• Just open your up-to-date WhatsApp app (Android or iOS).
• Do a video call with someone you want to share your screen with.
• Below, you’ll see a screen-sharing icon; click on it.
• Your screen is now sharing real-time with other people.

That’s it!

Note: Screen Sharing will not work in a large group of calls. It’s only possible for one-to-one video calls to share the screen with another person. And both users must have an up-to-date WhatsApp app to use this feature.

WhatsApp ‘Username’ Feature

Additionally, some reports said WhatsApp plans to set up a ‘usernames’ option where users can set their unique usernames for their accounts. This feature is already spotted on Instagram, Telegram, and other social apps.

Now, WhatsApp users will also opt for their unique usernames instead of depending on their phone numbers; they can share their unique usernames to connect with others.

Apple plans to convert your simple locked display into a smart multi-functional display with its upcoming operating system, iOS 17.

Apple Smart Home-Style Screen

According to Bloomberg Report, the iPhone lock screen will turn into a smart home where users can see the weather, calendar, appointments, and other notifications. So the iPhone will be more useful on a desk or a nightstand without unlocking the screen.

When the iPhone is locked, the feature will auto-enable.

The smart home-style feature makes the display more attractive and useful for users to keep getting updates without opening the screen frequently.

Expansion to iPads and Watches

As it’s the most useful feature, that’s why Apple will soon add this feature to their iPads and Watches.

The report says this new smart lock uses a mixture of black background and bright text to be easily visible to users from a long distance.

Enhancements to AirPlay and SharePlay

Apple is working on making significant changes in AirPlay and SharePlay; now, users can easily stream TV shows, movies, and music with friends while on FaceTime calls together.

On the other hand, AirPlay lets users share content from one Apple device to TV and other devices.
