The app is currently only available for iOS and has 550 options for spots specifically located in Brooklyn and Manhattan. There are also plans to expand to Queens where 100 restaurants will be logged. The Scene expects to expand its reach to over twenty cities across five years.

The startup was founded in 2021 by Ridhima Kalani and it was originally released as a website instead of an app.

The Scene NYC: Features of the App

The app considers several aspects while providing recommendations. Some of these aspects include the budget, timings, dates and party capacity. Other aspects include the preferred type of cuisine and the type of occasion. The Scene analyses the users’ preferences and recommends the best spots according.

Furthermore, The Scene NYC also has a feature that allows users to set their vibes through the ‘Vibe’ feature. This feature enables users to find spots that are specific to their interests. For instance, users are provided suggestions such as aesthetic-looking clubs, fine dining restaurants and more.

After selecting preferences, users can access the establishment’s menus, reservations, websites and so on. The Scene receives this information through its integration into Google Reviews and Instagram.

There are plans set to include AI features in the coming future. For instance, an AI chatbot as well as an inbuilt search engine that understands internet lingo.
