The first and foremost requirement is for users to check if their devices are compatible with Apple Intelligence. For iPhone models, only the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be viable to download Apple Intelligence. Any iPad model with an M1, M2 or M4 chip will be compatible. In addition, any Mac model with an M1 or the chips after that will work. Apple Intelligences needs a lot of processing power so it has been limited only to a few Apple devices. Furthermore, the compatible OS include iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

Apple has stated that only iPhone users with an extra 4GB of storage will be able to use Apple Intelligence. However, the required storage space may expand as the features increase. Since Apple Intelligence can only support US English as of now, only those devices set to US English will be compatible. Apple is planning on bringing more languages later in 2025.

Another one of the important iPhone requirements is for users to reside outside of China and the European Union. Apple Intelligence currently does not have any support for users living in China and the EU. Apple’s CEO has stated that they are working on bringing Apple Intelligence to these regions but it may take a while.

Users who have checked off all requirements will have to join a waitlist. Users may need to wait longer if there are a lot more people joining the waitlist. It should be noted that users need only to join the waitlist once to use Apple Intelligence on various devices.
