Ever skipped a heartbeat if your precious MacBook doesn’t respond to the power on key? The next eight steps may help you breathe a sigh of relief. If you have a MacBook Air, a MacBook Pro, or even an iMac, these troubleshooting tips may assist in getting you out of an annoying situation.

Check the Power Supply: Ensure your Mac has enough power to start up, press the Power button and look for typical signs like the starting up sound, the lighting of the Apple logo on the screen or the back, press the caps lock key to check if the green light indicator works. When none of these work, there’s a probability that the battery has drained. Put it for a charge for a few minutes then try again. If none of these work, move on to the next step.

Check for hardware issues: Start with the power cord, check if the power socket and cable aren’t damaged. Make sure your electric outlet supply is alright. Sometimes, it may take up to five minutes for the battery to power up, wait and watch if your MacBook comes to life. You may have upgraded the RAM or hard drive that isn’t compatible with Apple, try reinstalling the old hardware to power up.

A force restarts: Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds then release it then restart the computer as usual. Often, a frozen MacBook issue may be resolved with a force restart.

Reset SMC firmware: Resetting System Management Controller can work, Shut Down the computer, Disconnect everything apart from the Power Cable. When the computer is turned off press and hold, control, option, command, and the power button for four seconds release them together and restart the Mac as usual. SMC resetting procedure depends on your MacBook variant click https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 for more information.

Recovery mode: There’s a possibility that an issue with the hard drive could affect starting up the Mac. Try rebooting in recovery mode. Restart your Mac after the welcome chime press and hold Command and R keys. macOS utility window should pop up, from the drop-down menu select Disk Utility, select the name of your hard drive and click First Aid or Run. Wait until the scan is finished and restart your computer. If you are still having trouble, try the next step.

Reset Non-Volatile Random Access Memory: The NVRAM is responsible for a variety of functions, if you are having trouble with the speaker volume, screen resolution, or startup disk then a reset can solve them. Restart your machine then press and hold the Command, Option, P, and R keys at the same time until the grey screen appears. Hold down these keys and release the Apple logo and welcome notification chimes. This didn’t work, move on to the next step.

Boot up in Safe Mode: Press the Power button and hold the Shift key until the login screen appears. Click the Apple logo at the upper left-hand corner and select restart if none of these work you may have to resort to the last option.

Reinstall macOS: Here’s the last thing to try before heading to an Apple Authorised Service Centre. This will work out if you were able to start your Mac in recovery mode. Select Reinstall macOS from the macOS utility menu and follow the instructions.

Most of the time, these steps may work but if not you will have to visit a Service Centre if your Mac fails to start. I hope this could help you and remove the annoyance of not getting your device started.

The moment you know about the issue, the feelings of frustration and anxiety will set in. Although at-home fixes can remedy the problems, there are still issues that are better off with a professional need Macbook repair.

Here are
the common reasons why Macbook users bring their device for repair.

1. Your Macbook Goes Dead And Doesn’t Turn On

Finding that your Macbook suddenly turns off for no good reason can be an infuriating experience. When your device fails to reboot despite several attempts, it may have many issues that cause the failure. Although this kind of problem comes with a DIY-solution, the same isn’t a guarantee that it can be fixed. So, if you’ve done your best to reboot your Mac but it’s still not responding, contact a professional electronics company that specializes in Macbook repair.

2. The FaceTime Camera Image Is Of Poor Quality

Although
this can be a small problem, having an inferior quality camera image can affect
the overall functionality of your Macbook. When you notice your camera produces
a low-quality image, it can be a sign that there’s something wrong with your
Macbook camera. Generally, poor quality image problems aren’t about hardware
issues. It can be another problem that’s worth testing.

However,
if the camera still doesn’t work despite the testing and adjustment of
settings, then the issue can be due to something dire. When this happens, it’s
best to get a professional repair service to have your device fixed
immediately.

3. The Power Adapter Is Faulty

Having a
faulty adapter disables charging, and in turn, your Macbook will run off with a
battery. Also, it’ll be hard for you to spot a bad power adapter if you have a
low battery’s charge. When you encounter this problem, borrowing a battery or a
power adapter can be the easiest way to test the issue.

However, if using another power adapter doesn’t make your Macbook better, you may have a problem with the left I/O board. And if you still have the same issue with a fully-charged battery, then you may need a new logic board. To handle the problem better, send your Macbook to a professional repairman as soon as possible.

Suggested:

4. External Devices Can’t Connect Properly

Using a
Macbook means you have to use external devices to get the most out of your
usage. However, the problem starts to kick in when the external devices can’t
connect properly to your device.

You may perform some DIY solutions, but when all of them seem to be a failure, there may be a hardware issue inside your Macbook that prevents the port from working correctly. With this situation, it’s about time you take your device to a repair store.

5. Your Macbook Experiences Many Slowdowns

Like any
other electronic device, your Mac also experiences several slowdowns caused
possibly by excessive use, full hard drive, and consumption of your RAM.

If these are all the issues, a Mac upgrade can be the best thing to do. But, if the problem persists after the update and the slowdown comes with unusual noises, take your device to a repair shop immediately.

Suggested:

Best practice to speed up your Mac Book.

6. Your Mac Has Thermal Sensor Issues

Your
Macbook can also be susceptible to thermal sensor issues. When your fans are
running at high RPMs, but your device doesn’t still boot, there may be an issue
with the thermal sensors.

To solve
the problem on your own, make sure to plug in the sensors. However, if the
problem still exists even after replacing the thermal sensors, it’s more likely
that the logic board should be replaced. Thus, go to a repair shop to get it
done immediately.

7. Your Macbook Keys Don’t Work

This is a
recognized problem with some Macbook devices, especially the earlier versions.
When the keys stop working, they’ll begin making noises. This usually happens
when your Mac has heated up frequently.

If you
decide to deal with the issue on your own, blow air into the keys to remove
dust and fix some typical keyboard issues. However, you can also take your
device to a repair store for professional repair.

Advantages of Getting A Professional Macbook Repair

As
mentioned, most people these days use a number of electronic gadgets, and it
includes a Macbook. Like other devices, your Mac is delicate and susceptible to
breaking or damage. Most likely, this problem urges you to leave your equipment
behind and purchase a new one. However, it’s often better to repair it than
having it replaced.

Below are the advantages of a Macbook repair:

Conserve
Time – Taking your device for a
professional repair is much faster, especially if you’re dealing with tight
schedules. It can save time than shopping around for days to research, compare
models, check reviews, and wait for good deals.

Ensure
Security of Information –
You can’t just throw your defective Mac out and buy a new one. If you do it,
you may put all the valuable data encoded on your device at risk for theft. To
ensure the security of your personal information, it’s best to repair your Mac
and prevent the stealing of any data on it.

Save
Money – In
today’s modern world, almost all electronic gadgets come with expensive price
tags. If you find it challenging to look for money to purchase a new one, go
for repairing it instead. It’s typically much cheaper than replacing it. Also,
the repair is considered a financially viable option to solve a damaged device.

Know
The Outcome Already –
Even if you do your research, the new device you choose may still not meet your
expectations. To avoid wasted money,
stress, and frustration, get your Mac repair instead. When you bring a device
for repair, you already have a known outcome in mind, thus, you’re no longer surprised
by the result. You’ll have it back to its usual condition.

Save
Resources – Another
advantage of repairing an electronic device is to conserve resources. If you
throw devices away, it can add to the severe economic problems of your place
because you tend to produce wastes now and then. The more waste people
contribute, the more they can pollute the environment. However, electronic
repairs require fewer resources, which is beneficial for the environment.

Encourage
Good Financial Habits
– Having a broken Macbook or any electronics doesn’t necessarily mean you need
to replace it as soon as possible. These devices can still be subject to
repair, depending on the extent of the damage. Showing your children the value
of repairing your gadgets can teach them good financial habits. You can help
them appreciate their possessions by not disposing of them immediately. Above
all, repairs can be a financially responsible way of living a simple life.

Conclusion

By now,
you’re aware of the common reasons why you may need a Macbook repair. Although
there may be some easy fixes to perform, sending it to a professional repair
can save you time, money, and effort. This is especially true if you don’t have
any idea about DIY troubleshooting. So, get your Mac fixed right away if it
starts to show the signs or problems mentioned above.
