The new launch is available as a public beta and can be accessed on beta.maps.apple.com. Users are limited in terms of features but the basic features available on the iOS version of Maps will be available for users to utilise on the new web version.

Apple Maps on the Web and its features:

The web version of Apple Maps currently only has English as a language option. However, Apple expects to launch more languages in the coming future. It is also available on browsers including Chrome and Safari. It should be noted that users can only use the Apple Maps service on Apple devices such as the iPad and Mac.

Users can get directions while walking and driving while using the mapping service through mobile web browsers. Additionally, users can also see reviews and ratings of various restaurants, cafes, and other establishments. One can even order food delivery through Maps.

Furthermore, users can also read guides of locations and tour around various cities using this app. Apple has also stated that it plans to release even more features such as the Look Around feature this year.

Apple launched its mapping service back in September 2012 and it is the inbuilt map service for Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, Macs and so on. The app provides users with directions and also allows users to share locations with other users. Maps has support for over 33 languages.
