Nothing has just launched new headphones called the Ear (open). The Ear (open) is priced at Rs 17,999 and those interested can purchase these buds from Nothing’s official website or other e-commerce platforms.

The new launch’s striking design catches a viewer’s eye. Design is an area that Nothing has nailed down and the new Ear (open) headphones exemplify that. Not only are these headphones super stylish, but they are also lightweight and compact. Weighing in at 8.1g per earbud, the unique structure of the headphones also stabilises it and the ear hook makes it resilient as well as flexible. Nothing has also stated that these earbuds are 30% lighter than the standard ones in the market right now.

The speakers for these headphones are also pretty unique. The new Nothing headphones have an open soundstage and it comes equipped with Open Sound Technology. Users will thus be able to hear just about everything they want to.

Ear (open): More Features of This New Launch

The Ear (open) is designed with a Sound Seal System plus directional speakers. This makes sure that the user is the only one who can hear the audio making the listening experience completely private. ChatGPT integration makes it possible for users to interact with the AI model on the go. Users can access the AI model with their voice by setting it up through the Nothing X app.

Users can charge the buds for 10 minutes and get up to 2 hours of listening time. The buds offer 30 hours of playback and a talk time of about 24 hours. Nothing’s Open and its case is also IP54 dust and water-resistant. Compatible with both iOS and Android, the Open buds also come with Google Fast Pait and Microsoft Swift Pair. Additionally, if ever the user loses their buds, they can use the ‘Find my earbuds’ feature to find out where the buds are located.

Nothing is out with a new software update for its Nothing Phone 2. It was launched with Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0. It later received the Android 14 update and is now receiving the new Nothing OS 2.5.5 update. The new update will introduce ChatGPT with bug fixes and other features.

However, users would have to install the latest ChatGPT version from the Play Store on their devices to let this feature work.

ChatGPT Integration

One of the key highlights of the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update is the integration of ChatGPT. This will enable users to quickly and easily access the ChatGPT widget directly from their home screen. Users can easily copy and paste screenshots into the ChatGPT conversations. This will help improve productivity and make smartphones more efficient.

Nothing will release the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update along with the ChatGPT integration for the Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2a) in the coming months. Moreover, Nothing plans to integrate ChatGPT into its newly launched Ear and Ear (a) earbuds.

More on Nothing OS 2.5.5

Nothing OS 2.5.5 has introduced the Ultra XDR mode to the camera app. This enhances photography capabilities to the next level. For better image quality, users may now switch between the HDR settings in the Photo and Portrait modes. The Ring Mode option in Quick Settings is introduced for streamlined sound management and a RAM Booster feature for optimized performance. New widgets for recording and monitoring battery usage are also a part of the new update.

The Nothing OS 2.5.5 update brings improvements to the system with a focus on stability, NFC functionality, and Wi-Fi connectivity, including improvement to volume settings and various bug fixes, ensuring a smoother and more reliable user experience.

Carl Pei and his team at Nothing are back with another anticipated smartphone. The Nothing Phone (2a) is set to launch on March 5th in India.

Competing with The iPhone

Carl Pei has mentioned in various interviews before his interest as an Apple customer, Such that he even reviewed the iPhone 14 Pro on the Nothing official YouTube channel. Carl mentions his intentions of bringing Nothing to the scale of Apple’s. He dreams of taking his brand to a level where Nothing could be of great competition to Apple customers.

A Unique Blend of Design and Performance

It’s no shock that Carl Pei has come up with something so unique and eye-catching. The former co-founder of Oneplus is not unknown to market trends and technology. This device promises a fresh take on design, unlike the previous releases with better features in an affordable range.

Transparent Design and Iconic Glyph Interface

The Nothing Phone 2(a) has a unique transparent body, which allows users to peak into its inner workings. But it’s not only about the design. According to Nothing, the design symbolizes transparency in technology. It was highly inspired by transparent tech from the past.

The Glyph light bars have to be the most unique feature on a Nothing phone. The Glyph light bars with their unique features are not only useful but fun for the users. This phone although has the Glyph surrounding the camera and features three Glyph light bars unlike the phone 2’s with 11 bars, emphasizing simplicity and minimalism.

Lightweight and Powerful

The Nothing Phone (2a) has a plastic frame and body which makes it feel lightweight. The phone (2a) does not support wireless charging. However, it focuses on good performance with a 120Hz display, a 50MP primary camera, and 45W fast charging.

Pricing

Nothing brings a change in the market by bringing an affordable device without compromising on quality. The Nothing Phone (2a) targets a competitive segment, that appeals to budget-conscious buyers who seek a blend of style and substance.

What’s Missing?

Wireless charging is missing in the Phone 2(a)—a feature present in previous models. However, Nothing’s commitment to quality showcases that Nothing Phone (2a)’s performance will compensate for this omission.

Conclusion

As the countdown to March 5 begins, tech enthusiasts eagerly await the Nothing Phone (2a). With its unique design, competitive pricing, and focus on performance, it promises to be a refreshing addition to the smartphone landscape.
