Wix has recently incorporated IndexNow into its services. It helps enhance the speed of search engines to index new content. This development is significant for many Wix users to boost their web traffic. In collaboration with Microsoft Bing and Wix users can get support for IndexNow. It is a forward-thinking initiative initiated by significant search engines.

Product Lead at Wix, Einat Hoobian-Seybold, expressed her enthusiasm about this integration, emphasizing that it underscores Wix’s dedication to offering “ready-made, top-tier SEO solutions.”

How Does IndexNow Work For Different Premium Sites?

IndexNow streamlines the usually laborious content indexing process for search engines like Bing, and Seznam.cz, Yandex, and Naver.com.

Traditionally, website owners depend on search engine sitemaps or crawling, which may be slower and, at times, less precise.

IndexNow simplifies this by allowing websites to send a simple HTTP request to inform search engines about any content changes, whether new content, updates, or deleted URLs.

Microsoft Bing and Wix assist companies in establishing a Digital Presence

Microsoft Bing’s Principal Program Manager, Fabrice Canel, has hailed IndexNow as a groundbreaking development in the industry.

Currently, it boasts a user base of over 60 million websites, collectively publishing more than 1.4 billion URLs every day. Impressively, reports indicate that IndexNow is responsible for 12% of all newly-clicked URLs in web search results, underscoring its effectiveness.

Both Microsoft Bing and Wix have high expectations that this new feature will significantly benefit Wix users in their efforts to expand their business endeavors and online presence.

The integration doesn’t demand extra efforts from SEO professionals or premium website owners, rendering it an uncomplicated tool for immediate content indexing.

This joint effort by Wix and Microsoft has the potential to transform the speed at which businesses respond to online market shifts, particularly those that heavily rely on their SERP rankings.

After years of development, Google has officially announced its transition to mobile-first indexing, as announced by the tech giant on Tuesday. This significant change signifies that Google now precedes mobile versions when crawling and indexing the content of web pages.

This shift highlights Google’s increasing focus on mobile devices, a trend that began as far back as 2015. At that point, Google rolled out modifications to its search algorithm, showing a preference for optimized websites for mobile viewing.

In the subsequent year, Google initiated the mobile-first indexing process by prioritizing the crawling of mobile pages over their desktop counterparts.

Google marked this achievement with a heartfelt announcement:

As the years have passed, mobile web traffic has continuously surged, with certain regions witnessing nearly exclusive use of smartphones for internet access. We extend our gratitude to all site owners, SEO experts, web developers, designers, and everyone involved in the world of websites for their invaluable contributions to making the mobile web a resounding success!

Crawling on Mobile Enhances the User Experience

In a world where mobile usage has surpassed desktops for global internet access, prioritizing the crawling of mobile versions. It offers the most precise representation of what users encounter when searching on their smartphones.

Websites have progressively evolved, ensuring that their mobile pages are just as feature-rich as their desktop counterparts.

Google to Address the Remaining Sites Designed Exclusively for Desktop

Google has acknowledged that a few websites continue to face issues with mobile functionality. To accommodate these sites, Google intends to persist with the crawling of their desktop versions, at least for the time being.

Furthermore, the company plans to decrease the frequency of crawling desktop pages to save valuable resources.

Search Console Updates for Mobile-First Indexing

In a connected development, Google discontinues indexing crawler data from the webmaster tool and search console. With the transition now finalized, this data is now deemed optional as all operational websites are crawled through mobile.

The prolonged journey toward mobile-first indexing signifies the growing prominence of mobile devices in global internet usage.

With the implementation phase now complete, Google has made mobile the primary medium for users to connect to the web.

In response to a Reddit inquiry, Google’s John Mueller clarified if it is OK to no-index a webpage in order to prevent it from appearing in sitelinks.

Sitelinks, which are grouped links in the search results from a single domain, is often displayed when someone searches for a website’s name or URL.

A link to one of the real estate agent’s webpage was included in the sitelinks for the real estate website in question. The person who posed the query believed that Google need to choose what they deemed to be a more significant page to show in the sitelinks.

Noindex a Website to Get Rid of Sitelinks?

A Noindex meta tag is a mandate, and as such, search engines are required to abide by it. When a meta Noindex tag is present, search engines must remove a webpage from their index. In fact, Google advises taking this strategy to remove a page from Sitelinks by using a Noindex.

Indexing Unrelated to Ranking?

There are numerous components to search engines. In a simple way, there is an indexing engine, which is the portion of the Googlebot that travels about. Scans the internet, and gathers website content for potential inclusion in Google’s index. A ranking engine is also present.

Why Do Google’s Sitelinks Display Less Desirable Pages?

Google provides a list of actions that publishers can take to prevent less desired pages from appearing in sitelinks. According to the sitelinks documentation, you should:

“Be careful to utilise interesting, pertinent, and condensed content for your page headers and headings.

Create a user-friendly, logical site layout, and be sure to connect to your vital sites from other pages that are similarly pertinent.

Make sure that the anchor text for your internal links is clear and appropriate for the page they are leading to.

In your text, avoid repeats.
