Riding on the Barbie craze from last summer, HMD will be releasing a Barbie-themed flip phone. One of the phone’s taglines is that it wants to give users a ‘vacay’ away from their smartphone. This rings true as the HMD Barbie phone comes with very basic features such as texting and calling and a camera that comes with a built-in flash. Besides that, the flip phone comes with no other apps.

It certainly drives the point of it being a vacation away from the modern-day smartphone with tons of apps installed. The pink phone wants to serve its purpose by removing all distracting apps and disconnecting from the current digital maze.

Apple had previously rejected UTM’s application to list the emulator in the App Store. The tech giant had stated that the platform was not considered an emulator. There are no concrete explanations as to why Apple revised this decision.

The emulator is free to download and is considered easy to use. UTM also supports several outputs such as a mouse, keyboard, Apple Pencil, controllers and touchpad. Furthermore, it is supported by Quick Emulator (qemu), which includes more than thirty processors such as the RISC-V, x86_64 and ARM64.

UTM has stated on their official website that the emulator cannot play a majority of modern games. This is because Apple A-chips cannot support hardware virtualisation, thus leading to the recompilation of the ARM code with JIT. Consequently, performance will not be as good when compared to those with KVM.

Besides iOS, the emulator can also be run on Windows, and Linux. Although, the emulator works best and is much more secure on iOS.

Google is expected to release more than two smartphones from the Pixel 9 series. Besides the standard variants, the company will likely introduce the Pixel Pro Fold which is a foldable style smartphone. It has also been rumoured that a new oink colour variant of the Pixel 9 will be available in the coming month.

Google’s flagship phones will include Google AI features. The most notable AI feature to come is Gemini AI, which is Google’s own AI assistant. The AI chatbot provides users with assistance in crafting messages, summarising texts, generating images and more. Circle to Search is another feature that will be included in the Pixel 9 Series. This feature allows users to search without switching apps. Instead, users can simply hold the navigation bar or the home button. 

Gemini AI and Circle to Search are features that are already available on some select devices, but there are also new AI features to come with the Pixel 9 series. 

The Add Me feature will allow users to change expressions of people and even merge pictures with different people. This feature is a step up from the Best Take feature.

Another new feature is the Studio feature which is expected to be an image generator, but there are no details about this new feature. Lastly, Pixel Screenshots is an AI feature that allows users to store information that users have screenshotted.
