The Windows app version of ChatGPT is only available for ChatGPT Team, Plus, Edu, and Enterprise users as of now. OpenAI has stated that the app is currently available as an early version, with the ‘full experience’ coming later in 2024.

The arrival of the ChatGPT app can be run on most devices running Windows 10 and up but the app does have some limitations, especially when in comparison with other versions of the chatbot. For instance, the Windows app cannot run voice support such as Advanced Voice Mode. The OpenAI chatbot on Windows also cannot turn on some of the GTP Store integrations.

Similarly to the macOS app version of ChatGPT, Windows’s ChatGPT app enables users to minimize the app to a smaller window. This lets users use ChatGPT while using other apps simultaneously. The users can also upload photos and files and even ask ChatGPT to summarise various documents. Users can even get creative by generating images with DALL-E3, OpenAI’s image generator. This chatbot by OpenAI is undoubtedly an excellent all-in-one AI service. Although the chatbot cannot generate videos, it is still making strides in the AI industry.

Select GPT Plus subscribers will be sent an email detailing instructions to use the voice assistant. Users may also be able to view an invitation towards the bottom of the page when the ChatGPT app is in use.

Users can click on the Voice icon and start conversations with the Advanced Voice Mode. Additionally, users are given the option to mute/unmute themselves and they can also cease the conversation by clicking on the red circled X icon. Furthermore, users can also switch over to the Standard voice mode.

Advanced Voice Mode and its features

The new feature can be accessed in over 45 languages. It is said to provide users with naturally flowing conversations happening in real-time. Users can even interrupt the conversation to which the AI will pick up on the user’s emotions and respond accordingly.

The conversations can even be resumed through the new voice mode. It has also been advised by OpenAI to use headphones for the best possible experience.

The advanced voice mode comes in four voice presents developed by industry professionals. Voice actors have been employed to make the voices sound as natural as possible.

OpenAI plans to bring the new voice mode for all its GPT Plus members later this year. The company has also stated that it will be bringing screen-sharing and video calls in a future update.

OpenAI has stated that their new model has scored 82% on MMLU. The model outdoes GPT-4¹ in terms of performance on chat preferences in the LMSYS leaderboard. The new model is marked at 15 cents per million input tokens and 60 cents per million output tokens which is significantly cheaper than other models. 

GPT-4o and its features 

The AI company states that the mini-model allows for a wider scope of tasks due to its latency and lower costs. Support for vision and text in the API is currently available, with plans to extend the support to image, text, audio and video outputs and inputs. 

Furthermore, OpenAI’s new model has also been assessed through various benchmarks. As mentioned earlier, the mini model scores 82% on MMLU which is a step ahead of Gemini Flash’s 77.9% and Claude Haiku’s 73.8%.

Additionally, GPT-4o scores an impressive 87.0% on the MGSM scale which measures math reasoning. It scores 87.2% for coding proficiency on  HumanEval. It also scores a 59.4% on MMMU, showing an impressive performance for multimodal reasoning. 

Safety measures are implemented to prevent the model from learning inappropriate output. It also resists jailbreaks, system prompt extractions and prompt injections. RLHF (reinforcement learning with human feedback) has been implemented to improve the model’s accuracy of responses.

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s artificial intelligence chatbot through which users can use the app to have conversations in a dialogue format. Users can ask questions and ask the chatbot to generate images as well. 

Users can access the ChatGPT app on their Mac devices by pressing the Option + Space shortcut. OpenAI has also stated that users can use the chatbot for emails, screenshots and ‘anything on your screen’. The AI app lets users take screenshots and discuss the content with the chatbot. 

Users can also upload pictures and start ‘conversations with ChatGPT with photos’ from their computer. They can also upload files through ChatGPT and talk to the chatbot starting with Voice Mode. ChatGPT also enables users to view previous conversations.

During the WWDC, both tech companies announced a larger deal which provides Apple users access through iOS devices. GPT-4o will power the tech giants’ integration. 

OpenAI has stated, “ChatGPT will also be available in Apple’s system-wide Writing Tools, which help users generate content for anything they are writing about.”

AI shut down: It was however reported yesterday that AI platforms have shut down refusing to operate at the same hour.

AI platforms have become the talk of the tech world today, as it has aided individuals in their work and daily research.

However, Open AI’s CHATGPT in the early Tuesday morning experience went down and this time with some other AI platforms like Claude and perplexity, although Google’s Gemini happened to be working at that time reporters have also suggested that it may have gone off before too.

This was an unusual issue for about three AI chatbots down the same time.

During this period ChatGPT had no option to message its chatbots, this was between the hours of 7:33 AM PT and 10:17 AM PT

Claude’s website was also showing this error at the same time with perplexity showing the same.

This caused users on Twitter to talk about the problem, as it was also linked to the TikTok hack going on at the time.

But, Finally, at 10:17 AM PT, these sites came back

Finally, according to the company’s service status tracker, the company started working on the first issue at 12:21 AM PDT yesterday and it was fixed at 4:19 AM PDT

AI Shut Down Cause Major Outage Impacting

According to Open AI, “We experienced a major outage impacting all users on all plans of ChatGPT. The impact included all ChatGPT-related services. The impact did not include platform.openai.com or the API. This incident started June 4th at 2:15 PM GMT and was resolved June 4th at 5:01 PM GMT,”

After postponing the GPT Store’s opening from November to December and then January, the business has finally opened. Users who have developed their chatbots can upload and share them on the network. Currently, creating and using custom GPTs is exclusively available to OpenAI subscribers.

OpenAI has stated that it will initiate a revenue-sharing scheme with GPT producers in the year’s first quarter. The business has been mum on how exactly GPT builders would be compensated depending on how engaged users are with their chatbots.

According to OpenAI, a new review procedure was put in place before the custom GPT Store opened to ensure that bespoke GPTs adhere to the brand’s principles and usage policies. Also included were revisions to reporting GPTs that users deem dangerous.

Members of the new Team tier, ChatGPT Plus, and Enterprise users will be the first to get access to the GPT Store.

For smaller teams of up to 150 people, ChatGPT offers a premium version called ChatGPT Team. Team members of ChatGPT have the same data management capabilities as Enterprise members. Moreover, it included access to GPT-4, DALL-E 3, and OpenAI’s Advanced Data Analysis function. According to the company, the data and discussions from the ChatGPT Team will not be utilized to train any of OpenAI’s models. Members of the ChatGPT Team also have the option to use pre-made GPTs or make their unique ones to meet the demands of their teams.

ChatGPT Team costs $25 per user per month when paid for yearly. When paid for monthly, the price per user is $30.
