Meta to label AI-generated content

With the recent Senate hearing in mind, Meta revealed plans to create AI-detecting tools. It will trace and add watermarks on all AI-generated images, videos, etc. so that users can differentiate between AI-generated content. Meta is also adding features where users might be asked to disclose when they share an AI-generated Image or Video so that Meta can label them. They might also apply penalties if failed to do so.

Bard AI

Bard AI, Google’s latest innovation, has stood out in artificial intelligence. Launched on 21st of March 2023 Google’s Bard AI made its way to the Chatbot competition.

In its initial stages, Bard was introduced with features like natural language understanding, machine learning, and the ability to generate summaries and other content, but it didn’t have an AI image generator like the nightcafe.studio Ideogram generator. It used a lite model version of the LaMDA for initial testing purposes.

A slighter later upgrade was more focused on making interactions with Bard more visual.

However, amid the deluge of misleading images and videos circulating over social media, content created by AI tools has maintained a relatively peripheral role. Some incidents, such as the Israel and Hamas conflict would mark the first instance of false gen.

How Generative AI Misleading the Viewers?

Layla Mashkoor, an associate editor at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, shared her remarks. She said, “There are certainly AI-generated images in circulation, but they haven’t assumed a central role in information dissemination.” AI-generated disinformation, she says, is primarily harnessed by activists to garner support for a particular side or to create the illusion of widespread support.
