Chrome will be rolling out a new update that lets users colour-code tabs on the browser. This feature which was previously available on the desktop version will now be available on Android.

Besides this new feature, Chrome is also developing a feature that ernables Android Chrome users to view their saved tabs from their desktop version.

Colour-Code Tabs: What users can expect from this new feature

This new Android Chrome feature works the same as the desktop version. Users will be provided with nine different colours to choose from. Some of these colours include blue, green, yellow, white, purple, etc.

The colour-code tabs make it easier for users to categorise and identify their tabs. The colour-coding of tabs also adds a nice visual differentiation. Before this update, users were only able to differentiate their tabs with titles.

This new update is among Chrome’s continued efforts to enhance the user’s browsing experience. To access the new colour-code tabs feature, users will have to update their Chrome browsers to the latest version.

It is quite simple to use this feature, as users will simply have to group the tabs in their Chrome browser. After the first step has been completed, users can long press the tab group’s title and the option named ‘Change Colour’ will appear. Users can choose the colour of their preference from the colour options that have been provided.

Distraction Control is Apple’s one-stop solution to removing annoying website distractions such as cookie pop-up reminders.

It has been reported that this new feature will see its release in the new iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and iPadOS 18 developer updates.

To access the Distraction Control feature, users can go to the Page Menu available in the Smart Search. The desired items can be selected for removal from the website. Safari currently does not sync this feature throughout its various devices. Therefore, users may have to manually select the items for removal in each device. However, Safari does remember to remove the items for any future visits to the websites.

Distraction Control: More on this feature

This new feature allows users to hide annoying and distracting elements from a website. It should be noted that Distraction Control does not remove ads altogether so users may not be allowed to remove all the ads they come across permanently.

This update follows in the footsteps of Arc as this browser also introduced a tool similar to Distraction Control. This tool called ‘Boosts’ allows users to personalise websites and remove any unwanted sections from the websites.

Such features make the browsing experience less of a hassle for users. It limits the amount of ‘distractions’ that websites badger users with, making the users’ browsing experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Discover Threads’ most recent news as Instagram introduces a new online interface that extends the microblogging platform to desktop computers. In a crucial move that will be noticed by the sector, Threads by Instagram is launching the web version of its social platform this week.

Instagram, which has always restricted users to mobile platforms, has undergone a dramatic change as a result of the news.

The microblogging complement to Instagram, Threads, first appeared as a means of fostering closer friendships. The launch of a web interface, however, denotes strategic growth, maybe in reaction to the changing consumer demands.

More Accessible Threads

Intrigue and even a hint of skepticism greeted the decision to make Threads accessible online. With a clear preference for mobile experiences, Instagram has historically appeared wary about web-based developments for its platforms.

The company’s conventional strategy has changed with the expansion of Threads onto browsers in less than two months after its debut.

According to an update, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri posted via his Broadcast Channel. The online interface closely resembles the smartphone experience. For PC users, the design offers a mobile app-like experience.

Potential Effects on Competitors

The launch of Threads on the web may be a symptom of a trend towards platform convergence. As hitherto mobile-only apps are beginning to realize the possibilities of expanding their accessibility.

The move by Instagram to expand Threads could be seen as a strategic alignment given the availability of X competitors like Bluesky via browsers. An important development in the tech sector is the introduction of Threads’ online interface. This shows how platforms that were before limited to particular devices are now more flexible.

The new Threads web version not only expands user interaction but also enables marketers to connect with their target markets across all devices using tools.

Suggested:

Learn about Bing AI’s new features and usage trends, such as multimodal visual search, expanded browser compatibility, and business chat. Over one billion Bing AI talks and 750 million photos have been generated in the six months after Bing and Edge were reinvented, according to Microsoft.

Edge has also experienced growth for nine straight quarters, demonstrating its ability to provide consumers all over the world with high-quality AI experiences.

Chat history and AI-Generated Images

Users can generate images from textual descriptions thanks to Microsoft’s innovative Bing Image Creator service, which uses DALL-E models from OpenAI. This innovative combination of verbal and visual AI-generated content has already inspired a wide range of creative application cases.

Bing’s Chat functionality has undergone additional enhancements. In the “Recent Activity” area, Bing can now recall previous encounters. The chat history feature improves the platform’s usefulness by allowing users to review previous chats.

Features for AI-Powered Search

The AI-powered capabilities of Bing are now also available to smartphone users thanks to Microsoft. Additionally, Windows Copilot’s integration of AI into PCs allows for centralized AI experiences for users.

By reducing the need for several programs, Windows Copilot and Bing Chat are designed to streamline workflows. SwiftKey, known for its AI-powered predictive text engine, is also integrated with Bing into its iOS and Android services. Today, users can use AI to produce words, receive AI translations, and change the email’s tone.
