If you’re looking to assemble your own PC, you’ve come to the right place! This blog post will provide a comprehensive guide to help you put together a powerful, custom-built computer. We’ll cover every step of the process, from selecting your components to setting up your operating system. With this guide, you’ll be able to build a computer that fits your needs and your budget. So, let’s get started!

What You’ll Need?

When it comes to assembling your own PC, you need to make sure you have all the necessary components. This includes a computer case, power supply, motherboard, processor, memory, hard drive, optical drive, and peripherals. To assemble your PC properly, you will also need a few tools such as a Phillips screwdriver and an anti-static wrist strap. Once you have all of the necessary components and tools, you can begin the process of assembling your PC.

Step One: Preparing the Case

Before you can begin to assemble your PC, you’ll need to start by preparing the case. The first step is to remove the side panel of the case so that you can gain access to the interior. This can usually be done by loosening two screws located on either side of the back panel. Once the screws are removed, slide the panel off the case and set it aside.

Next, you’ll want to install the standoffs on the bottom of the case. These are metal screws that hold the motherboard in place and help prevent short circuits. Make sure to insert them in the proper pattern and ensure that they are properly screwed in before continuing.

Finally, you will need to install the I/O shield. This is a metal plate that fits in the back of the case and covers the ports. It should come with your motherboard and should fit snugly in the slot provided. Once you have installed it, you’re ready to start assembling your PC.

Step Two: Installing the Processor

Installing the processor is one of the most important steps when you are assembling your PC. It requires careful handling, so be sure to handle the processor with care.

Before you begin, you will need a few items: A motherboard compatible with the processor you purchased, a processor heatsink and fan, a thermal compound, and a screwdriver.

1. Prepare the Motherboard: Take off the top cover of your case, then remove the motherboard’s cover plate. Position the motherboard so that it is properly aligned with the case. Secure it to the case with screws and standoffs.

2. Mount the Heatsink and Fan: Attach the heatsink and fan to the CPU socket according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Make sure the pins on the fan are aligned with the slots in the socket and that the fan is firmly mounted.

3. Apply Thermal Compound: Spread a thin layer of thermal compound on top of the CPU. This helps transfer heat from the processor to the heatsink more efficiently.

4. Install Processor: Insert the processor into its socket on the motherboard, making sure to align the notch on the processor with the corresponding tab on the socket. Gently press down until it is firmly in place.

5. Connect Fan: Connect the fan to the appropriate header on your motherboard.

Once you have completed these steps, you are ready to move on to Step Three: Installing Memory!

Step Three: Installing Memory

Installing the memory for your PC build is the next step in the assembly process. Memory, also known as RAM (random access memory), is a type of computer storage that temporarily stores information while your computer is in use. This information can be accessed quickly and easily, which is why it’s important for a PC build.

To install the RAM, you’ll need to locate the memory slots on your motherboard. These will typically be color-coded, with one channel marked in blue and another marked in black. Insert your RAM into the corresponding slots, making sure that the notches on the RAM match up with the notches in the slots. Gently press down on the RAM until you feel it snap into place.

When you’re done installing your RAM, be sure to double-check that it’s secure before continuing to assemble your PC. Once your RAM is properly installed, you’re ready to move on to the next step in the process.

Step Four: Installing the Hard Drive

Installing the hard drive is a critical step when assembling your PC. To begin, you will need to open up the case and find the hard drive bay, which should be easy to identify. Once you have located the hard drive bay, insert the hard drive into the bay, making sure that it is properly aligned. Once the hard drive is in place, you will need to secure it with screws. Once the hard drive is securely attached, you can then connect the necessary cables. Make sure that the power cable is connected to the power supply and that the SATA cable is connected to the motherboard. Once everything is connected, you can close the case and proceed to Step Five: Installing an Optical Drive. With these steps, you should have successfully completed one of the most important steps when it comes to assembling your PC.

Step Five: Installing an Optical Drive

Installing an optical drive is a simple but important part of the process of assembling your PC. You will need to have an optical drive to read and write CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs.

Start by unboxing your optical drive and connecting the power and data cables to the back of the drive. Once it is securely connected, you can mount the drive in the case with the supplied screws. Once you have mounted the drive, you can connect the data cable to the motherboard.

When installing an optical drive, it is important to make sure that the correct type of drive is being used. For example, if you are using a SATA drive, then you should make sure to connect the data cable to a SATA port on the motherboard. If you are using an IDE drive, then you should connect it to an IDE port on the motherboard.

Once all the cables are connected, you can now close up the case and move on to the next step of assembling your PC.

Step Six: Connecting Peripherals

Now that you have your PC components assembled, it’s time to start connecting peripherals. You will need to connect a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and any other devices you may have purchased.

For your keyboard and mouse, use the USB ports on the back of your PC. Plug in the USB cable for your keyboard, followed by the cable for your mouse. Make sure to plug them into the same color port.

Next, connect the monitor cable to the back of your PC. This will usually be an HDMI or VGA cable depending on your monitor. Connect one end of the cable to the monitor and the other end to your PC.

Finally, if you have any other devices such as speakers, headphones, or webcams, connect them to the appropriate ports on the back of your PC.

Once everything is connected, turn on your monitor and then turn on your PC. Your newly assembled PC should now be up and running!

Step Seven: Putting It All Together

Now that you have all of your components installed, it’s time to assemble your PC. To do this, you’ll need to connect the power supply to all the components, as well as the case. You’ll also need to connect the motherboard to the case via the appropriate mounting points and screws. Finally, you’ll need to connect all the peripherals to the motherboard.

Once everything is connected, double-check your connections to make sure they are secure. Once you’ve verified that everything is connected properly, you can begin powering up the system.

After powering up your PC, you’ll need to install an operating system so you can use it. Depending on what you plan to use the PC for, there are several different operating systems to choose from. After selecting an OS, you’ll need to download and install it onto your PC.

Once the OS is installed, you should be able to boot up and access your desktop or start menu. You can now begin installing software and playing.

Malware threats can be heinous to your computer and hence should always be protected from malware threats. Having any kind of malware/spyware/and other infections on your PC not only makes it vulnerable to security threats and compromises the information and leads to an overall shutdown of your PC.

It is therefore important to keep your Windows 10 PC away and safe from any kind of malware threats and infections. This article will walk you through some of the best solutions to keep malware infections away from your Windows 10 PC.

How To Remove Malware From Computer?:

Below are the different solutions to remove and keep your computer safe.

1. Disconnect From Internet:

The Internet is the biggest source of malware infections entering your PC. Most of the time we browse sites that may be illegitimate and may download infectious data or spyware when browsed. This may prove heinous since the malware easily transfers important information to the malware server and poses threats.

2. Work In The Safe Mode:

Safe Mode is the safest mode and blocks the malware that loads automatically on Startup. Loading the Windows 10 PC in Safe Mode makes it easy to remove malware infections.

3. Keep Track Of The Activities Done By Any Malicious Applications Installed:

Another good way to keep malware infections away is to keep close track of the applications you might think are malicious. Browsing the Activity Monitor tells you what functions are being performed by the infected application and you can deal with it accordingly.

You can easily end the process by opening the Resource Monitor. To do so:

Type Resource Monitor in the Start Menu.

On the Resource Monitor window look for the task or application you want to end a process for.

Right-click on the task and finally click on End Process to end the process associated with that application.

4. Check The Browser:

Windows 10 PC when infected by malware threats makes changes to the Web Browser and the Home Page. So it’s always a good idea to keep a check on the settings of the Web Browser. If they have been modified, the possibility is that there is some kind of infection present on your Windows 10 PC.

To check the Chrome Homepage settings follow the steps below:

Open your Google Chrome web browser.

On the home page, click on the three-dot icon present in the top-right corner of the screen.

Now select Settings.

From the Settings page, click on the Search engine from the left panel.

Check if the homepage is correct.

5. Delete The Cache:

After you have verified the Browser settings and its Homepage, you should also delete the Cache. This is again a good way to protect the computer from malware infections, To delete the Cache from Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, follow the steps below:

Open your Google Chrome web browser.

On the home page, click on the three-dot icon present in the top-right corner of the screen.

Now select History.

Select On Clear browsing history from the left panel.

Finally, click on the date range and finally click on Clear data.

6. Have A Malware Removal Utility Installed: Advanced PC Cleanup:

Advanced PC Cleanup from Systweak Software is a multi-utility tool that keeps your Windows 10 PC optimized and free from all kinds of malware threats and other infections.

It is an advanced tool that scans and deletes redundant files, manages Startup items, removes junk files, and protects your computer from malware threats. and improves the overall health of your Windows 10 PC.

Image credits: screenshot taken from the Advanced PC Cleanup

Features:

Malware Protection scans the PC for any possible infection and malware/spyware infection and effectively removes it. Malware and spyware infections are a major area of concern and should be addressed on priority. Having an infected PC poses serious threats to normal functioning and also steals sensitive information from your Windows 10 PC.

Junk Cleaner scans for all the junk files lurking in different corners of the system and deletes then restoring precious disk space.

Startup Manager effectively manages the Startup by disabling the programs that start automatically on bootup and hence hamper the boot time.

Uninstall Apps Uninstall unwanted applications that occupy disk storage making the system slow.

Old Downloads are the downloads that we download via links, attachments, and also email. These attachments are of one-time use usually and then sit on your Windows 10 PC occupying substantial storage space. Advanced PC Cleanup effectively scans and deletes their old downloads.

Recycle Bin is another important feature. Deleting a file does not mean that it is permanently removed from your System. It is simply moved to the Recycle Bin. In order to remove the files permanently, files from the Recycle Bin should be deleted. The feature does the same and restores disk space. Download today

In a nutshell, malware is an infection that gains unauthorized access to your Windows 10 PC and damages your PC to a great extent. These malware threats not addressed on priority can be heinous. Hence we should either perform the manual steps or use a third-party application to protect our computer from malware.

Have you ever wondered sitting in front of your laptop or computer, what if this thing started automatically?

Well, we all have.

Surrounded by automated machines, we would like an automated start of our systems as well.

In this article, we will walk you through the options and steps to get your PC automatically started at a designated time.

BIOS and UEFI

While you are looking for BIOS (basic input/output system) and UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) options on your laptop, do note that not all PCs have the automation feature. Whether the feature is available to you or not, can be answered only by your hardware.

Read the laptop manual or search on the internet for more information.

To access the auto start you will have to go to the BIOS settings. Restart your computer and press F1, Delete, Esc (common procedure for most motherboards, check the manual correctly). It is usually displayed on the screen for automatic-start, but if it does not maybe your PC does not have the feature. Refer to the HP Desktop PCs – BIOS Setup Utility Information and Menu Options for more details.

However, on some PC’s you can go to Troubleshoot < Advanced Settings < select ‘UEFI Firmware Settings’. Press the Shift key while clicking on the Restart option to acquire the available boot options. This is the most used procedure for all Windows 10 users.

Also, understand the steps to kick-start your PC automatically with BIOS (Basic Input Output Systems). It is similar to the UEFI procedure – restart your system while clicking Delete or Esc for the settings options. You can locate the Power Management tab on the screen with your cursor. Furthermore, locate the Resume By Alarm option to change the settings for the automated start of your system.

However, not all PCs start with the same procedure. Many softwares have differently designed processes for the automated start of the system.

A few specifications and tips for the users –

Dell systems and computers support automated to start with the F2 key while booting.

Some HP systems use F1 and F10 keys for the procedure.

F1 and F2 are typically used for Gateway computers.

You might have to repeatedly press the keys for further settings.

However, all the different PC’s and computers have dissimilar procedures.

Basic guidelines to follow while tuning automatic start with BIOS –

Shut down the computer.

Restart it and look for the function key that says, press key to enter setup.

Click on it and press the required key according to your system.

Press the indicated key immediately after prompting.

Look for a Boot set or start.

Change the time settings and click on save and exit.

There are chances the system will turn on or off during the process. You can restart and perform the task again.

This will take some time to understand, but do not give up! Rigorously hunt for the option available in your PC and make the most of the time you save every day instead of blankly sitting in front of your PC.

Task Scheduler

The Task Scheduler is an important aspect of Windows that automates the start of software, program at a defined time, or at specific intervals of time. Well, we can use this to start our PC automatically each day at the same time.

1U rack mount computers, as the name suggests, are computers that can be set upon a rack, and the alphanumerical designation “1U” refers to its height. For beginners, the preceding statement seems a bit too technical and admittedly, the information may be quite a handful. However, the primary goal of Rack mounting is to organize and simplify network devices, which includes routers, switches, network servers, and computers. Also known as Rackmount computers or PCs, many businesses have long used these devices and enjoyed their benefits.

What Are Rack Mount PCs?

Rack Mount PCs are computers that are contained in enclosures called Rack Mount cases. This specialized casing allows the computers to be mounted on a framework called a “Rack,” which resembles a steel cabinet. The computers go into the slots in the rack called “bays” where they can be screwed into place. Depending on the requirements of the business owners, the rack framework can have anywhere between six to 12 or even more bays that are stacked one over the other.

The mounted computers on the framework are typically located in a specialized room with a special cooling system to counteract the heat generated by the electronic devices. The computer peripherals such as the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and local area network may be run through the floor, walls, or the ceiling.

As mentioned earlier, Rack Mount enclosures have an alphanumeric designation to indicate their height and these are 1U, 2U, 3U, and so on. A 1U rack mount means that the enclosure measures 1.75 inches high, 2U is equivalent to twice that high or 3.5 inches and 3U would be three times as high or 5.25 inches.

Benefits of Rack Mounting PCs

1. Extra Protewebction

With the computers in a special room, the central processing unit (CPU) is well-protected. If it were a regular desktop CPU that sits on or under a desk, it is more at risk of being damaged by regular office traffic or with liquids being spilled on its circuitry. Should one or two computer units require servicing, the company’s techs can work in the server room without interrupting the flow of office work. Being in a specialized room also keeps unauthorized persons from fiddling with the PC units.

2. Cooling

Computers on a rack receive better airflow, compared to a PC that is sitting on a desk. Server racks are usually kept in a special room called a data center where the temperature is controlled to ensure that the PCs are kept cool to run efficiently.

3. Organized Workspace

Rack mounting PCs frees up spaces in the workplace that would have otherwise been taken up by the CPUs. It also eliminates unsightly and disorganized cabling between the CPU and the peripherals.

There are other benefits that businesses gain from rack mounting PCs. These include making power management easier and providing PCs with a cleaner environment to operate. All these translate to lower maintenance costs and longer service life for the computers.

Should You Consider Rack Mounting PCs for Your Business?

Companies with data centers and computer closets have long been rack mounting their computers and have benefitted from it a great deal. This does not mean, That rack mounting should be limited to such companies. Given the benefits of rack mounting, you may also want to have one installed for your business. Having a centralized data center affords you better control, protection, and maintenance of your computer system. While the installation may have an upfront cost, the investment will be well worth it in the long run.

Unlike in the past, the PC gaming world or the community has become more abundant. More and more individuals are starting to join the PC gaming race and build their own rigs. If you are one of the many individuals hoping to be part of this flourishing community, know that you should not rush things. It is important to broaden your horizons before you jump into buying parts for your machine.

With that said, here are some helpful tips for budding PC gamers. This should help you with all the challenges you are going to face the moment you decide to build your own gaming PC. Keep them all in mind!

1. Always Check Forums

There are tons of forums out there specifically dedicated to the gaming world. If you really want to get your money’s worth, and you surely do, pay attention to these online forums. There are individuals out there on these sites that can help you with whatever challenges you are facing. For instance, you are deciding on two types of graphics cards and you are not sure which one is better than the other. You can post a topic related to this dilemma on these forums and users will be there to help you separate the wheat from the chaff.

2. Budget Is Important

Sure, you already have the specs for your PC, let alone the programs or software you want to install. But before you go further, you want to make sure that your choices can be backed up by your budget. So before anything else, determine the budget you are willing to shell out. From there, decide which specs have the potential to respect the amount you want to spend. Let’s say you want a farming simulator 19 downloads for your PC. Before you move forward, make sure you have the resources to support it. Sometimes, it is better to be realistic and practical rather than force yourself into something that you will regret later.

3. Do Not Rush Things Out

This one right here is more of a general narrative. Basically, building a PC takes time and a lot of effort. If you force it, the outcome might not be satisfactory. For example, you decided to buy a cheaper processor when you could have waited and saved up for a much better one. As a result, you are not completely satisfied with your PC’s performance. There is no need to rush things in the world of PC gaming. Learn to be patient and go for the ones that could really give you the best results.

Check out the 8 Genius devices for Students.

4) Go For The Best Specs

Let’s say you have asked questions, comments, or feedback. Now you are down to some selections and budget is not really a question. As much as possible, go for the best specs out there. Sure, they can be costly, but the improvements and performance they bring to the table are very worth it.

5) Remember to Upgrade

Yes, that is right – no matter how cool or awesome your PC right now, understand the likeliness of having an upgrade later on. Every year, newer pieces of computer parts are being released and they are much better than the existing ones. If you really want to flourish in the world of PC gaming, upgrading your machine is a must, such as having a farming simulator 19 downloads.
