Android applications have a different kind of craze among people because of their exciting features. And as time passes, the usage of smartphones is expanding, and the preference for Android apps is growing rapidly.

As a result, almost 66,000 mobile apps were released through the Google Play Store in August 2021. However, launching an Android app on Google Play Store is somewhat tricky, and this is where most business owners lose their minds. But now you can say goodbye to your concern about — how to publish your Android app on Google Play Store as this blog has all your answers.

Here, I have mentioned a step-by-step process to launch your app on Google Play Store. But before starting with this, I would like to throw some light on the importance of Android app development for businesses.

So, without any further delay, let’s get right into it!

Why Is Android App Development Crucial for Businesses?

Android app development is imperative for every business because it attracts the maximum audience and produces a higher return on investment (ROI).

Initially, Android applications were not such a hit but, after the Google takeover and valuable features, the market share of Android apps started to grow, and as of now, it has a market share of 72.44%. Moreover, multiple business owners are leveraging Android app development as it has a faster deployment, targets multiple social media channels, has numerous customization options, and is easy to integrate.

Thus, you can consult an Android app development company to build a flawless application for your business.

Publish Your Android App on Google Play Store in 7 Easy Steps

Create a Google Developer Account

Do you know how to launch your app on Google Play Store? The first step is to create a Google developer account because without listing it on Google, you cannot proclaim it on the Play Store. You can create a Google account either by using your existing account or can sign up for a new account.

You can switch your application to another account anytime you want to. Plus, you have to pay a registration fee (not too expensive), add some personal information and have to sign the Google developer agreement.

Create Application

After creating a Google developer account, start building the application. Following are quick steps for developing an application.

Operate all applications options from the menu

Click on ‘Create Application’

Pick the language option (as per your region) from the drop-down menu

Select the title for your app

Click on ‘Create’

Once you have created your application, you can always change the app title (as per your choice), and then, you’ll move ahead to the entry page. On this page, you have to fill up all the details for the app store listing.

Upload the APK

Now that you have created an application, it’s time to upload the APK. The term APK stands for Android Package Kit, which is a file format used for installing (and distributing) Android applications. Google has different options for uploading (and releasing) the APK.

In order to publish the APK, select the app and then navigate the release management to app release from the menu on the top left side. Afterward, pick the type of release you want to upload and click on ‘Create Release’.

Prepare App Store Listing

The above steps to launch your Android app on Google Play Store were uploading and creating. Now is the time to focus on preparing an app store listing. Store listing displays all the app details for the audience on Google Play and is categorized into different sections.

Don’t forget to use the suitable keywords in your app description and fill up the details, like product details, graphic assets, translations, and more.

Set App’s Content Rating

If you don’t want your application to remain unrated, provide your application with a suitable content rating to stay in Google’s good books. You can perform various practices, like preparing a questionnaire or conducting a survey.

Avoid any misrepresentation of your app, as it can drive away your potential users. Also, the higher ratings enhance the app’s ranking in searches leading to more downloads. So, boost your engagement rating by apt content rating.

Set App Pricing and Distribution Plan

There are two more steps to launch your Android app on Google Play Store, and one of them is setting up the app pricing and distribution plan. Prepare a proven monetization strategy for your app.

After witnessing an excellent response to your app, you can move forward and set up your app as free (or paid). Also, remember that you can switch your app from paid to free but, you cannot change a free app to the paid one. So, wisely decide the app pricing and prepare a distribution plan accordingly.

Launch Your App

Finally! It’s time to launch your app and enjoy the upcoming profit from it. Ensure to review all the app features entirely and take care of everything properly. Before submitting your app to the Google Play Store, read the guidelines properly, as your app has to meet all the play store’s requirements.

Concluding Words

I hope that now you know how to publish your Android app on Google Play Store.

I have specially arranged a step-by-step process to launch your app on Google Play Store so that you don’t have a hard time. However, don’t think that your task is done after publishing the app on Google because it is an ongoing process that requires a continuous analysis (from updating to app marketing).

Thus, this was my take on how to launch your app on Google Play Store. Also, if you follow the above steps accurately, you are securing your app’s position in Google Play Store for sure.

All the best!

There is a new kid on the block known as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers, also short for “Bert.” Ever since its introduction, it’s being regarded as one of the most important updates in the last five years. It began it’s rolling out on October 21, 2019, for English-language queries. But, have you ever wondered why so much importance is being given to it? What does it do? Why does it matter? And should you really be spending your time learning about it? Well, let me just start off by telling you that Bert will affect 1 in 10 of your search queries from now on.

Do you even have any idea how wonderful it is going to bring a significant impact on search engine optimization and its entire landscape? Well, we will get to know that in just a short while, but let us first dive into BERT’s general description, what it is and what does it do?

What Is BERT Exactly?

BERT is basically an algorithm update to properly analyze how words or different prepositions are used in a search query and how they relate to one another. In short, before BERT Google used to do search queries much easier by merely omitting certain words from it, such as “for” and “But.” However, it soon realized that there was a significant difference between a search query “flights from London to New York” and “flights from New York to London.”

Google used to easily provide the same search results by simply ignoring the “from” and “to” from the query. And the results it showed were of no value, mainly due to the massive difference between the search queries, as explained in the example mentioned above. Thus, with the help of this new algorithm update, the search engine aims to give out more accurate results by carefully taking every phrase, word, and syllable into consideration.

Why Is It Important?

Even though Google keeps on making changes in its search engine algorithms every now and then, the introduction of BERT is seen quite impactful. It is developed as an effort by Google to enhance the user’s experience. Now, you see, search engines fail to understand a complicated query fully completely; for this reason, a better understanding of language and its nuances is important. BERT makes this job easier, so when you wonder next time, why it matters? This is one of the main reasons. With the help of BERT, Google aims to increase your search rankings by providing more accurate results and enhanced user experience.

Prepare your Website for Google Bert

If, as a website owner, you are looking for ways to increase your search engine rankings, then it’s always better to start with a strategy. But this doesn’t mean you would have to revamp your search rankings completely, you need to follow four techniques given below to achieve this aim.

1. Incorporate Simple Keywords

One of the most important factors these days for deploying an effective keyword strategy is the use of mixing long-tail keywords of three or more words. Bert tends to prioritize conversational words tightly coupled together, and in this way, it impacts the current trend of your content.

Moreover, BERT follows content that is of high quality and is created naturally. Which means it should be informational. Don’t focus on keyword generation too much; you would want to provide genuine information through your content as well. Bert only prefers content that speaks value. Merely, focusing on your choice of keywords won’t be a smart thing to do in this regard. Hence, put in tireless efforts for creating fresh, crisp, and genuine content and let the keywords you have chosen flow naturally.

2. Long-tail Keywords are the Real Deal

As mentioned earlier, long-tail keywords should be your top-most priority while dealing with BERT. Even though BERT content quality is also a priority, a long-tail keyword is also of some relevance, so don’t ignore them. While content quality is the number-one priority, BERT will give long-tail keywords equal relevance. When Google receives a search query, it knows that users are typically typing it in by not keeping relevant keywords in mind. They are simply in search of directions, advice, and recipes.

Google understands this by focusing on longer queries and by catering to its users. So, for this reason, it would be a smarter thing to incorporate long-tail keywords. For instance, create content that has the title “8 steps to create a vanilla cupcake” instead of “steps to create cupcake.” Searches like these need to be answered. Keeping your audience in mind can also be beneficial. Think from their perspective and what words they utilize to type their query.

Suggested:

How to find long-tail Keywords?

3. Invest in Creating Informational Search Content

Informational searches refer to queries based on broad topics. It includes questions that get searched most on, and many people want answers to them. Moreover, as BERT also understands languages, it makes providing answers to questions based on general information much easier. Hence, it would be better to start off from creating content that is based on information search.

Start creating how-to articles that provide a step-by-step guide or go for writing blogs that provide tips and benefits on specific topics. There are tremendous opportunities for you to create content based on informational search; what matters most is that all the information that goes into the content must be of genuine nature.

4. Make Use of Stop Words

Now, if you don’t know what stop words are, they are the prepositions used in the content which were previously omitted by the search engine. However, now with BERT, Google promises to provide its users with more accurate results. Which means, it would be advantageous for you to put stop words back in your content.

Take Away

This blog illustrates the importance of BERT with some essential techniques which will help your website get back on track and optimize with BERT accordingly. Google is making efforts towards expanding its AI’s capacity to examine the different nuances of language. This means it’s more important for websites to come up with content that speaks quality, value, and authenticity. Hence, read on this blog to understand all different concepts for BERT and level up your website ranking game.

Have you ever noticed a sudden drop in your site traffic? Which though seemingly random at first, one Google search later you find is down to something called a Google Core Algorithm Update? It happens to the best of sites, but it can be particularly damaging if your site is the online storefront for business. And if so, then you really need to learn how to protect your online business from Google updates.

With
that in mind, here are some of the core principles which you need to apply to
your online business in order to protect it from future Google Updates.

Follow the Guidelines

It
may seem beyond basic, but the trick to ensuring that the next Google Update
doesn’t tank your site is very easy; just follow the rules.

Of course, Google has around two-hundred guiding principles which make up the overall algorithm. Not knowing every tenet of these guidelines off by heart is normal. It doesn’t mean your online business is destined to flop. It’s doubtful even the most skilled SEO ‘guru’ actually knows a handful, let alone all of them. However, if you follow the very basic outlines that Google requires from a site you should see the benefit relatively quickly.

Content is Still Important

‘Content is king’ is one of the most overused phrases in the digital marketing industry. And it has been contested in recent years as people try to establish parameters, guidelines and what have you, beyond buzzwords. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s no longer true.

Long-form,
detailed and relevant content is still vitally important to help ensure your
online business site ranks well. The higher quality your site content, the more
likely you will be able to weather any storm that comes your way during a Core
Update.

And, importantly, remember that duplicate content is much worse than bad content. It can get your site penalized. So, no matter how tempting don’t steal–including images–from other sites, as it could reap terrible consequences for your site. If your content is written by an agency or freelancer, then it is your responsibility to ensure they are then not stealing it from other sites. Unfortunately, this can happen and it is imperative you check this is not the case frequently.

Beware of Links

Link building is not dead, despite everyone and their grandmother stuffing SEO-related media with this phrase. However, caution is still needed for this particular marketing practice. As, now more than ever, it is quality over quantity which benefits your online business.

But, as you may or may not know, there have been large consequences for sites following Google Updates in relation to links. Especially following the Penguin Update in 2012; which targeted spammy or irrelevant links in bulk. Since that day SEO has been plagued with the idea that all link building is bad and not just the spammy kind.

Yet, in 2019 link building is still a practice that can be beneficial to your online business. It can still help to build your site, improve your traffic and ultimately help you to grow your long-term revenue. Doing so the right way, however, has become the key to avoiding devastating losses when a Google Update hits. This means ensuring the links built to your site are high quality and hold some form of relevancy. So, if you’re a sports brand building business loan links… well, you get the picture.

If your link building schemes are all above board, then you should have nothing to worry when it comes to Google Updates.

Make Keywords Natural

Once upon a time, webmasters would fill footer of a page with keywords and then simply change the text color to blend into the footer. Making the keyword stuffing completely unobvious to the casual site visitor. This was happening on an industrial level. It was a common ‘SEO expert’ practice.

And
then a Google Update named ‘Hummingbird’ launched in 2013.

This meant that keyword stuffing was now heavily penalized. Which affected pages that simply overused the keyword throughout the text, but didn’t necessarily employ the tactic mentioned above. This means that the pages which had previously ranked for these tactics were suddenly tanked. And sites that had been much more conservative with their keyword use were suddenly rewarded for that fact.

Following
from this, also, was a growing trend of matching searches to better meet user
intent, rather than just the keywords they use, has also become more and more
prevalent in Google’s Algorithm. Meaning that a site no longer has to
exact-match keywords, rather just a general connection to the topic in some
cases.

For example, you may optimize a page for a keyword like ‘oral hygienist’. A user can then search ‘dental hygienist’ and your page may still appear, as the intent behind the two terms is still very much the same. The same can be done for a number of keywords and industries, using broad keywords along the lines of ‘app developers’. This means, overall, that you have much more room when it comes to keyword optimization – it can be much more natural.

Ultimately, keyword optimization is still as important as ever for SEO. But, to protect your site from past and future algorithm updates, it is vital that all of your optimizations are done in line with Google best practice to protect your online business.

Think Long-Term

Ultimately, choosing to forego short-term ‘easy’ fixes for your site and you should invest in long-term strategies instead. This is ultimately more important to help avoid a Core Update problem at some stage down the line.

The longevity of your search campaigns should really stretch beyond ‘get a good link and your traffic will go up slightly that week’. The long-term strategy needs to look beyond next week and look to how to obtain traffic over longer periods, which can then be converted more consistently over time.

Long-term SEO strategies are where many agencies, freelancers and businesses tend to fall short of the mark. As getting short term traffic increases is often the main aim of many common practices set out in this niche on the whole. Perfecting longer-term, more consistent, growth can then put you above and beyond the strategies of your competitors.

Fundamentals of this long-term strategizing can include:

Ensuring multiple traffic sources for your site – don’t let organic be the only source of traffic!

Choose keyword optimization which will survive the test of time – not just keyword choices which are popular in the here and now!

Build a contingency of loyal site visitors/customers. This way, you can rely on repeat custom as well as new users finding the site.

Think about setting up paid campaigns. Google Ads is quickly becoming the search giant’s biggest concern, so make sure you are well versed in this method of search.

Audit your performance regularly to ensure there is nothing which could be improved upon or changed.

Engage your audience regularly across channels; including competitions, audience polls and other such tactics to ensure good long-term user ‘loyalty’.

Analyze competitor SEO and replicate these tactics were deemed effective.

Continue to build links to your site, but ensure they are high-quality and worthwhile.

As
you will have noticed, a strong long-term SEO strategy is as much concerned
with extending into other platforms as it is strengthening its own. Remember to
change and adapt to your market over time as well; as this is of fundamental
importance in order to build a sustainable digital marketing plan over time.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, ensuring that your online business is not badly affected by a Google update shouldn’t be too difficult. The fact is that if you are following basic guidelines or rudimentary SEO practice, your site should be able to weather the storm relatively well. Beyond that, issues that arise after an update could very well be due to more technical or in-depth problems than you might be expecting.

Keep the three main threads outlined above in mind when it comes to your online business and your site should be fine.

Someone called it a cat and mouse game, and it is. Website designers and SEO experts keep on devising strategies to keep their websites on top of Google search results pages, and Google keeps on tweaking its algorithm from time to time to provide users with more accurate results. It is a never-ending cycle, and a website needs to keep tabs on these changes in the search algorithm. The problem with that is Google does not officially announce the algorithm updates in most cases, but experts try to understand the differences by extrapolating the changes in the ranking with the changes that happened on the websites. We decided to take six continuous years from the last decade and see the major Google algorithm updates in those years.

Update in 2008

It was a less busy year compared to some of the other years in the decade from 2008 to 2017. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the primary concern for a website designer. In April, Google gave users a standard keyword called “Dewey” and asked them to report changes in rankings between different data centers. In August, a new feature called Suggest was introduced, which displayed suggested results in a drop-down below the search box, which remains to this day, rechristened as Google Instant.

Update in 2009

In February, Google allowed webmasters to send canonical tag signals to the search engines. It was done in partnership with Microsoft and Yahoo and did not impact human visitors to those websites. Twitter feeds, Google News, and later on, other social media feeds were included in real time searches in December.

Another major Google algorithm update in 2010

It was a hectic year for the search engine and marketers alike. Google Places, which had been rolled out in 2009 as part of Google Maps, started to get integrated with local search results. The next confirmed change was on May Day when sites with thin content began to be penalized. The significant shift after that was the rollout of the Caffeine infrastructure which aligned crawling and indexation. The journey of 2008 was closed in September, with the launch of Google Instant. November saw instant previews of landing pages using a magnifying glass icon. It marked the increased focus on the quality of landing pages. Finally, Google made a unique change to algorithms to weed out websites that were grabbing rankings based on negative reviews, following an expose on one such site by a newspaper.

2011

In January, Google reacted to some much talked about spamming cases by aligning rankings with content attribution. The big news was the launch and rollout of the Panda structure in the algorithm in February, and poorly constructed sited began to get penalized for lack of quality. Following the lead of social media apps, Google introduced the option for visitors to give a plus one (+1) rating to a search result, allowing the domino effect of user votes to push up the rankings of a good site. 2011 was also the year which saw several updates to Panda. Following month saw another joint announcement by Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft regarding schema.org. Continuing this momentous year, Google launched Google+ and integrated it with its own products like Gmail. One more innovative update by Google was in August when expanded site links with bundles of 6 sites began to be offered in response to brand searches. Two more critical updates were related to encryption of search strings and adding freshness of content as a positive for ranking.

2012

In a trend that had started in 2011, Google began to announce updates in packs instead of individually. The year also commenced with an announcement of 30 updates. Another 2011 development that was taken forward was the use of Google+ for personalizing Search+ Your World. The updates to Panda continued through the year, and some Lowell MA SEO experts reported one more round of updates that penalized websites with more advertising than content. One significant change that the year brought was that instead of the earlier ten results on each page, Google began to provide 7 top results on each page.

Some More major Google Algorithm updates in 2013

Updates to Panda continued through the year, and we were also introduced to Penguin. May saw a new update that controlled the crowding of too many domains in the second and subsequent pages of the search results. Google announced a crackdown on known sources of spam results like porn sites or sites providing Pay Day Loans. In August, Google also rewarded longer articles with more depth with positions on its search results.

Finally, What I want to say.

These were just six examples of how Google kept SEO experts busy every year. The trend continues as we step into 2018 with the launch of Google Jobs in June 2017 being just one example of how Google keeps reinventing its algorithm.

Rankbrain (part of Hummingbird algorithm) is said to be the third most important ranking factor in the Google. The Moz.com claims that it (RankBrain) was implemented in the Hummingbird algorithm by Google in the month of October 2015.

Now, first of all, let me explain to you what exactly Google RankBrain is and how it is affecting organic search and has an impact on Search Engine Optimization.

It is the technology used by Google which actually learns; it helps the search engine to deliver best search results. It can also be said that RankBrain is machine-learning artificial intelligence system responsible for the Google results in SERPs.

Suggested:

Why is Organic traffic the best source of Traffic?

What Is RankBrain?

RankBrain is the name of the machine which learns; it can also be given a name “Machine-learning.” This Google’s machine is an artificial intelligence system which is used to grab search results for it. It was confirmed to search engine land by Google.

Now, What Is Machine Learning?

When a computer teaches itself to do something instead of being taught by any human or any external command, then it is known as the machine learning. The machine learning system can be made up of three part:

Model: Which do all the identification or the prediction.

Parameters: The factors responsible for taking decisions.

Learner: Responsible for predictions and outcome.

You can learn in detail about machine learning here.

Then comes Artificial Intelligence

The artificial intelligence (AI) is the man-made program or thing which actually acts like a human being, or sometimes these Artificial intelligence programs work better than human beings. What these programs do is, acquire knowledge without being taught and even build their own or by making some connections.

RankBrain uses the artificial intelligence (AI) to look for the best and most desired results for the searchers.

Google RankBrain is responsible for the Search Results?

It is not a complete algorithm, but it’s merely part of an algorithm called Hummingbird. As it is responsible for sorting billions of pages or post and showing relevant results for any kind of particular queries.

The name Hummingbird was given to the algorithm in the mid of 2013. This algorithm didn’t have any name for years, but Google decided to give it a name in 2013.

Although RankBrain is the newest part of the Hummingbird but has a high impact on the search queries and has become one of the important parts of the Google algorithm.

Signals used by Google for Ranking?

Google uses Signals for ranking web pages on the Google SERPs. These signals can be the “number of words, use of On-Page tags, unique content and the page not being Mobile friendly and some more like this.” These signals are being judged or processed by the different parts of the Hummingbird algorithm.

Google says that they have more than 200 major signals and these signals have almost 10,000 sub-signals. And these signals are responsible for the ranking on Google SERPs.

RankBrain Being The Third-Most Important Signal?

It is among the hundreds of most important signals, but just in few months, it has become one of the most important signals. One of the Google’s People (who confirms updates) says that it is the third-most needed signal for showing results for search queries.

Is RankBrain Smarter Than an Average Engineer?

RanBrain is no doubt smarter than any average engineers working in the Google. Google’s engineers spent days and years to make the algorithms work, but when engineers were asked to manually look out for the search results, the results were 70 percent perfect whereas with RankBrain they had 80 percent accurate results.

Although the rollout of the Google Rankbrain was a difficult task, the team which was working on the RankBrain almost took a complete year to make it to the perfection. And at last in 2015, it was rolled out.

Optimize according to Google RankBrain?

Rankbrain aims to make Google’s algorithm an Artificial Intelligence machine. Here are some of the tips which can help you to overcome RankBrain and shine in the Google SERPs.

Stay Focused On Your Content

While moving with your SEO techniques or strategies, keep your focus on the content. Do not divert by focusing on creating the content different than your niche. Focusing on different things may lead to no ranking and will end with no traffic.

Single Page Content is Ranked:

You have to concentrate on a single page for ranking a single primary keyword. You can’t use multiple pages for ranking the same type of keywords, as it will not be better for ranking. Here is an example of the same.

For, E.g., Ranking for the similar keywords:

“Affordable SEO India”

“SEO Company India”

“SEO Services India”
“SEO Consultant India”

It is much advisable to use multiple keywords in the single post, thus making one of the target keywords on the page.

You can simply divide the content of the page into the different sections or Sub-headings. And using these three keywords in some sub-heading and in the paragraph. And if you are using SEO by Yoast Plugin, then you can enable the advanced features of it to get meta keywords box in the snippet editor. This way you can tell the Google, the keywords you are targeting for.

Stronger internal linking:

In some of my recent post about SEO, I have also mentioned about the internal linking. As RankBrain advises to focus on the Longtail keywords or section, so you must interlink your post with the long phrases or keywords. Besides this, it has some more features like it can help to get a good domain authority to your website and lower the bounce rate of your website.

You should link from the category to the top level pages and the other pages too.

Every Page Should Link from Category Page to Top Level Pages, but it must not be done through Keyword Silo. It is also essential to link internally through Long Tail Keywords like questions and larger phrases. You can check the interlinked pages or the post in this article to get a little help.

Use appropriate Synonyms:

It will be much better to use synonyms instead of using the exact keyword again and again. Use of the synonyms will help you rank on the Google with those search queries on which you are not even working. It will be a big help.

As Google is getting smarter by using the artificial intelligence and give the results what people look for. And it looks to me that RankBrain will surely rank the content with good synonyms. The term used for synonyms is LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) and If you are new to it then check out this post about the LSI and how to use it with perfection.

But we are Still not sure how things may change in Future:

It will be very difficult to say that how much RankBrain will affect the SEO in the coming days or years. It is still known to impact on the “search queries” instead of any factors in the ranking SERPs. Although, we must focus on better content optimization and write the content for the human beings to make sure that users get the original content to read.

The Search Engine Land’s writer Kristine Schachinger claims that it has affected the entity search for now but due to its learning capabilities we may see improvements in the coming days.

Finally, what I want to say.

Now RankBrain has become a part of the Hummingbird algorithm, and it’s going to do its work with perfection. And we have to adopt those things which make our websites content most suitable for the rank brain. Try to add more alternate words instead of the keyword in your content for better Ranking.

And please do let me know what you think about the Rankbrain update and has it affected your search queries.
