How to Start an Amazon FBA Business?

Is your friend making money with an Amazon FBA business, and you also want to give it a shot? Congratulations, you have just come to the right place.

What probably he/she didn’t tell you is that an Amazon FBA business is the best online business to start today.

Just the other day, Amazon’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, became the richest guy on earth. How would it feel to be his “business partner?”

I know you want to start with Amazon FBA business very fast. I’ll go straight to the point with a few tips to get you started. But if you think it is hard to start on your own, check out the best Amazon FBA courses

What’s Amazon FBA?

Amazon FBA (fulfillment by Amazon) Business is a set up where you choose a product to sell, order the products from a supplier, and make the shipment. Amazon does the job of storing the products in one of the fulfillment centers.

Below is a 5-step process to get you started.

1. Set up an Amazon Account

It all starts here. Head on to Amazon.com and sign up with a pro account. No worries, you can start with a free account and upgrade later. The setup process is very fast and simple. What you will need to include;

  • Physical address information.
  • Email address.
  • The legal name of your business.
  • Billing address.
  • Telephone number.

2. Finding and Choosing the Right Product

This is the hardest part that needs much of your time. It’s not much pressure, but understand that the right product will determine your ROI in the long run.

Still, don’t take a whole decade breaking your brain. The fact remains that passion overtakes the desire to make a profit. Choose a product that you love and which you will find easy to sell.

This is the only thing you are an expert on. It, therefore, becomes easy to craft compelling product reviews and copy which drive sales.

Let’s say that you are a golfer. There many interesting golf-related products that other golfers will be more than happy to buy.

3. Do Intensive Market Research

You are not done after you’ve chosen your product. Remember, you are not the only one selling the product.

You still need to know the right price range, how the product performs in the global market, and the keywords that will drive traffic to your site.

Most of your research will happen on Amazon and eBay. It would be easy to know how much people charge for a similar product and the number of products they order from suppliers.

4. Find a viable Supplier

Sourcing your product is another obstacle that you’ll need to flex your muscles for. It’s time-consuming to get a supplier that knows his/her job well.

The first step to getting suppliers is the trade magazines from your local area, which you will buy it from a local bookstore. If that isn’t helping much, google “local tradeshows.” You are likely to get seminars that plan for hosting big-hitters in the industry.

Landing many suppliers in the process is common. You don’t want to get confused now. So separate the wheat from the chaff.

To make an easy decision, consider the supplier that manufactures related products to the one you currently need. Why? Your business might get bigger, and you will surely need more products to sell.

5. Dive into an Intensive Marketing Spree

Pat yourself on the back if you’ have reached here. It’s not easy to find the right product, get an awesome supplier, and ship them into one of the many Amazon’s warehouses.

There is only one step between you and your purchases. If you do it well, you will get several thousands of dollars in a few months.

The marketing process is long, but I’ll just give you a few important tips. The first thing to do is to work on your copywriting skills or hire an expert copywriter to do the job. Why? You will need to write product descriptions and reviews.

You will also find it reasonable to get ways of advertising. The most common and low-cost option is pay per clicks (PPC). You can create ads on Facebook with either PPC ads or customize different advertising options. Just make sure the advertising doesn’t go beyond your budget.

Over to You

Starting a successful Amazon FBA business is a good idea in this age where online shopping is taking root. Why not jump on the bandwagon now and secure your market early.
